Solaris file type  (UFS) is not default in Linux.  It needs to
be compiled into the kernel as static or as a module. It comes
under the category of  "Miscellaneous filesystems", with ADFS,
HFS and CRAMFS  support. Just set the  CONFIG_UFS_FS option in
".configure" in the kernel sources root tree and recompile the
kernel. Some distros may do it by default, most don't.
