It could just be that the driver support is unavailable.

You can check online at http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.html

Also, boot up using belenix and see if sound works. If not, then your
sound card is not yet supported. If yes, you will have to install
addition drivers for audio support
