   I swear by KDE. But some things are preventing me from using KDE on 
Solaris:

   * Blastwave KDE fonts are plain ugly. They probably do not link to 
libXft.
   * http://solaris.kde.org/ KDE is somewhat old and difficult to setup 
properly
   * BeleniX KDE has problems as you mentioned earlier.

   So I am stuck with good ol' GNOME.
