Hi Folks,

It is time for a Bosug meet and we have a bunch of interesting
topics lined up for discussion. The venue and timing are the same:

SUN office at Divyasree Chambers ground floor,
Off Langford Rd, Shanthinagar
Next to Shanthinagar Hockey Stadium
Time: 6:00 PM Onwards
Date: Saturday, 24th March, 2007

Suggested Topics:

*) Sriram Narayanan has a couple of presentations that will be interesting
   to look at:

OpenSolaris - a deployment platform of choice
OpenSolaris - Developing Linux applications on OpenSolaris
   OpenSolaris for Java Developers

Since there are 3 presos, in the interest of time I suggest to take
up the summary of the presos and discuss the salient points rather
   than going through every slide.

*) Planning for the installfest and ideas for the hackathon

*) Discussion on KDE on OpenSolaris/BeleniX. What needs to be done, possible
projects, how to go about creating usable KDE packages for Solaris.

We can have the Desktop Comparison preso here as well.

*) Solaris has many performance analysis tools/utilities (apart from
   dtrace and mdb).

Of course this is a pretty big list and we may not be able to cover
everything. So whatever is not covered can spill over to the subsequent
Bosug meet.

However planning for the installfest appears important to me and here are
a few suggestions:

- Organize the installfest in a centrally located college like BMS (our
university contact Ganesh can get it arranged)

There are advantages to this. We will get a bunch of curious students.
We will have no problem with extra monitors, keyboards and UPSes. Net
access will not also be a problem.

- If there are people from a little far away who want to install OpenSolaris
on their desktops we can have the installfest at two sites. One at the
college and one at another person's place having broadband connectivity.

- So we need to create a list of interested folks who want to install and
their locations. Also a list of volunteers is needed.

- This is going to be a several hours to a day event so we need to schedule
  the installations.

Regards,
Moinak.
