Another late response, from  someone with piles of mail in the
unread boxes !

Hey Anil, I am  on Nexenta, though not on an  i810 box. I have
come across  this in the  Nexenta bug tracking  system before.
The problem is  neither in the card, nor in  xorg. The nexenta
default install does NOT have Intel i810 drivers support. They
need  to  install  "driver/xf86-video-i810" from  the  CVS  at
freedesktop.org. It may be in the gnusolaris repo by now. 

This is the X.Org driver for the Intel i8xx and i9xx family of
chipsets, (i810, i815, i830, i845, i855, i865, i915, and i945)
