Hello

On a desktop with Asus motherboard and nvidia graphics I installed the
audio patch 1.9 beta, the following is the pkginfo output

# pkginfo | grep TOOL
G11NTOOLS SUNWfsexam File System Examiner
G11NTOOLS SUNWfsexam-root Fsexam platform

system TOOLSahlp Audio Driver Framework
system TOOLSbpci Soundblaster 16/128 PCI
(ES1370/1371) Driver
system TOOLSemu Soundblaster Audigy PCI
(EMU10Kx) Driver
system TOOLSi810 Audio Driver for Intel
ICH audio controller
system TOOLSva686 Audio Driver for VIA
VT82C686A AC97 audio controller (beta)
system TOOLSva8233 Audio Driver for VIA
VT8233 AC97 audio controller

This was a general patch installation.

ISV support asked me to do something specific, give the command
# update_drv -a -i ' "pci8086,266e" ' audio810
# touch /reconfigure
# init 6
          (enable sound "example for gnome")
"choose" launch --> Preferences --> Desktop Preferences --> Sound
          "mark" Enable sound server startup
"unmark" Mute; in your launch panel audio icon by right
mouse click on audio symbol
# init 6
(Verify that audio is enabled)

I did all that.

init 6 restarted the system. Is that what init 6 command is supposed to do ?

The Audio did not work. Right clicking on the audio icon on the task
bar showed "no audio device" and when i tried to open volume control
it said no mixer elements and/or devices found.

AUDIO STILL DID NOT WORK. What do I do ?

Sivasubramanian.
(The following is the output of the entire sequence followed)
:
# update_drv - a - i ' "pci8086,266e" ' audio810
Usage: update_drv [ -f | -v ] <driver_module>
        update_drv [ -b basedir ] [ -f | -v ] -a
                [-m 'permission'] [-i 'identify_name']
                [-P privilege] [-p 'policy'] <driver_module>
        update_drv [ -b basedir ] [ -f | -v ] -d
                [-m 'permission'] [-i 'identify_name']
                [-P privilege] [-p 'policy'] <driver_module>

NOTE: at least one of m/i/P/p must be specified with -a and -d.
# update_drv -a -i ' "pci8086,266e" ' audio810

# pkgadd -d audio-1.9beta-i86pc.pkg
