Dear US-BOSUG,

Here is a list of issues we face with solaris Build 70 installation.
Looking forward for your kind assistance!

                 Pre installation issues snv_70

Our lab machines have only 512 MB physical memory and Solaris Express edition or Solaris interactive mode or even the Desktop session doesn’t work with 512mb.
Most of the college machines comes with physical memory up to 512 only , in that case the installation becomes difficult unless the user chooses the Solaris Interactive CONSOLE SESSION to proceed with the installation.

     Our Lab Machines configuration is
Intel 945 Board with dual core processor 2.8 ghz , with 512 MB physical memory
We tried to install the OS in Solaris interactive Text (Console session)
It comes up with
Setting up Java. Please wait

and the installation freezes.

This is known issue which we have come across in many of the previous builds

It comes up with
? attempting to configure interface e1000g0 and then it says
skipped interface e1000g0?

Build 70 is still not able to automatically configure the network card.
Every time we issue the plumb command to configure it.

 Post installation issues snv_70
The following Errors are display every time we boot the Solaris build 70 Machines

This is known issue which we have come across in many of the previous builds and we have posted it across the community several months before and we are yet to receive a solution for this issue.

If you restart the os with out rebooting it properly it comes up with
Warning : Error reading Master
Warning : ufs log for /changed state to Error
Warning : please unmount(1M) / and run fsck(1M)
Warning : exec(/sbin/init) failed with errno 5.
(unix: Could not start init)
Press any key to reboot..

This warning repeats even if you reboot the machine and the only way to get rid of this is by login through Solaris failsafe mode..( Previously this was not the case) In the Previous solaris builds, we have tried many system resets still the os never gets into these warning traps.

Thanks and Regards,
