[ug-bosug] SXDE 05/07 : Network Connectivity very slow when run as VMWare guest OS

Hi BOSUG!,

I have setup SXDE 05/07 for my KDE/Solaris work on a fast desktop at work.
The VM itself seems to run pretty well.

Network access is very very slow :(

I also installed VMWare tools for Solaris inside the guest, hoping that
would fix it.
That did not improve things (Networking is set to Bridged in VMWare)

On the host machine ( Ubuntu 7.04) the network is around 10-15 times faster.
( I downloaded Vim source code on the host and the guest machine to
benchmark )

Has anyone faced this problem before? (This is the first time I am
trying out Solaris/SXDE inside vmware.)
Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks
Manish Chakravarty
