[ug-bosug] firefox & thunderbird keeps crashing

Hi Arun,

Please backup/rename the following dirs in your home dir.

.gnome
.gnome2
.gnome2_private
.gtk*
.gconf
.gconfd

make sure there are no files/dirs in your home dir with any of these names.

Restart X ( Ctrl-Alt-Backspace) and re-login into JDS.

Your firefox should work correctly.

I recall facing a similar problem with evolution and this fixed it this 
way. Never got around to finding the root cause. I happy with KDE now :)

You will lose all your GNOME customizations with these steps!

This is a crude and unscientific solution, may be someone on the list 
can suggest a better one.
