[ug-bosug] Taking KDE4 to the Sun ARC!!

Hi Sanjeev,

I am familiar with the kde/qt source base.

For starters, putting probes into QObject and QWidget constructors will help.

It would be great if someone could demonstrate using dtrace on C++ binaries.

I recall reading an article on how to deal with the name mangling issues using C++ flt.
Someone demonstrating it would be terrific!

Thanks
Manish

When I cover adding SDT probes I will try and use a C++ example. Would
that suffice ?

This is a good idea ! Some thoughts :
- To add any useful DTrace probes it is important to know major areas
where probes are needed to improve
diagnosis. And people who have good understanding of the code and
have idea of the major events would
need to educate the rest who are adding probes. So, before the
hackathon this ground work is needed.

Thanks and regards,
Sanjeev.
