Moinak,

I tried this out. I was able to choose KDE as the session and log in via
GDM.

There are a couple of (serious) problems with KDE on my system ( SXDE 1/08 ;
b79a )

1) This happens for almost all KDE apps (including if KDE apps are being
run from within JDS)
DCOP server refuses to start with the following error message:
QUOTE:
Could not read network connections list:
/home/manish/.DCOPserver_freedom__0

Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running
UNQUOTE

My home dir is /export/home/manish. Why is KDE reporting it as
"/home/manish" ?

2) The KDE first run wizard hangs with a weird xauth problem.
I am unable to read the full error message as it is hidden behind the KDE
3.5.8 splash screen :(
