Remember two things:

You're booting via ARP/RARP not DHCP.  I don't think that x86 supports RARP.  So, you're going to need to set that up (dhcp) and then run "boot net:dhcp - install" instead of just the "boot net - install" that you're probably using.

Also, the checklist listed above will help (with dhcpmgr) but the output of the add_install_client script is different.  I'm not sure how exactly to enter the dhcp info based on that (and my guess turned out to not work.)

This isn't an answer to all your problems, but it's a place to start.

I'm struggling with the same issue right now (jumpstart a T1000 from an x4450) and I'm about read to give up and borrow a Sparc box.  There doesn't seem to be a definitive checklist out there that I've been able to find.
