[ug-bosug] need some suggestions for a opensource fest in college

hi,
I am the CA from NIE, Mysore.The sun club in our college  plans to conduct a open source event in march .
basically to ignite passion in the minds of the student community of Mysore.right now we are in the basics of planning. 
we thought of including a few workshops which would be simple and get them to contribute right *from* the spot.we thought it would be good to generate interest if we have some sort of games workshops or some thing based on graphics as well.
could you suggest any other workshops that could be conducted thats could create interest and draw participation to open source.
any other suggestion would be of great value to us.
