I'm no expert on Zones, but on the little that I know of them and of
updates, I think that it'd not be possible. My reasoning is that even
with non-sparse zones containing Solaris 10 binaries, the updated
Nevada kernel would be different from the S10 kernel.

Perhaps having a Xen/VirtualBox instance would be a better option.
