The short answer is you can't "download" IPS packages. You friend needs
to be connected to the network himself. But since he wants the Ethernet
driver in the first place, he is hosed.
Since its a driver, you might get away with creating a "user-image"
installing the appropriate package to the it. Then copy the
kernel/drv/bcmXXX, kernel/drv/amd64/bcmXXX , kernel/drv/bcm*.conf to
your friends laptop and do an add_drv and an update_drv manually.
