The Support Programmer/Analyst reviews, analyzes, develops and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support network operations. Consults with business analysts and system users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. This position requires practical hands-on experience with development in the Solaris/Linux, PERL Script, C, C++, Apache, PHP, Oracle framework . This person will work in a team environment to develop scalable network monitoring, control, and alerting applications to support a multi-tiered enterprise environment and to develop customized set top interfaces for the IPTV network. This person should have practical hands-on experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP, MPLS, SIP and TR-69 and have a solid working knowledge of DHCP management. Often the Network Operations Support Programmer will receive complex PERL scripts developed by Network engineers and be requested to convert those scripts into scalable and supportable C or C++ code modules. Basically a C/C++ progammer which will support the NOC, tie in monitoring and reporting systems etc. on a Solaris/Linux platform. This position will require 80% programming and 20% support. The programmer analyst will be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Will organize and chair peer code reviews for each system developed. Writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must have solid and practical ?hands-on? experience with relational databases and client-server systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. . A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
