I tend to support Eric's point of view. Since there is already
a Hardware Compatibility  List on sun.com, it  would be better
to just have ALL the info of compatible stuff in one place ...

A bit [OT] but pertinant, so digressing here:

My only grievance against the Sun web-admins is that they have
not put any internal search facility. The volumes are mammoth,
and finding anything is quite an experience. There is hardly a
link which-can-be-put-in-a-single-line-since-there-are-so-many
-sub-sub-sub-trees-on-the-servers-at-sun.com ;-)

In the example  above, if not for Eric's link,  one would have
to waste a lot of bandwidth, time and energy to find it... Got 
the point ?

Back on track:

To differ a bit from conventional thinking, In my dumb view it
is just as  important to document what H/W did  NOT work (with
which version of  which software), so that fixes  can be found
or  developed.  Now  that  OpenSolaris  has  ventured  out  of
'official'  h/w platforms  from  respectable  stables to  hand
assembled boxes like mine, (which  has not seen a brandname in
over a decade), we need that  info too ... believe me, most of
Bangalore is that way ;-)
