This won't be straightforward since USB uses a master-slave topology
and needs a host controller.  It is not symmetric peer-to-peer.
There are some networking products which allow direct USB to USB
connection capabilities.  Should be interesting to try these out and
expore the options available.  Let us know if you are seriously
considering this and I'll see if I can hook you up with some USB
gurus here.

By the way, _never_ connect two computers directly with a USB cable!
