  My recommendation is in part based on the fact that we have a group in
  Sun India with which we appear to be competing.  I am not interested
  in endorsing their product (which your current draft phrasing does).
  I am also not interested in publically discussing our standard
  organizational disarray.

  We also have a number of prominent wiki advocates on the -discuss
  alias who might leap up to criticize even a neutral position.

  Are you certain that the thread actually asked for a position on Wikis
  and infrastructure?  I'm pretty sure it was about article
  submission...

  Anyways, I'm happy to work on crafting a position statement, if we
  believe one is needed.
