   And to answer your earlier questions in the proper context. Solaris 
Express
   uses a Java based installer running in CDE. There is a currently a 
major install
   rearchitecture project going on, but that will take quite some time.

   Also SUN has decided to standardize on GNOME as the desktop of choice for
   Solaris/Solaris Express. This is being branded as the Java Desktop. 
However
   KDE is also available from http://www.sunfreeware.com/kde.html

   Or you can use the pkg_get from www.blastwave.org to install a whole 
bunch
   of open-source packages for Solaris that includes KDE.
