Paris, January 31st 2006

We are proud to announce the creation of the first French-speaking
OpenSolaris user group, the GUSES («Solaris Operating System User
Group»). It is legally established as an association under the 1901 law,
presided by Bruno Bonfils, systems and network administrator, a Solaris
user, with the help of a 5-member board.

The goal of this independent association is to promote, develop
operating systems based on the open-source OpenSolaris kernel from Sun
Microsystems. This includes of course Solaris, the commercial version,
as well as the new open and free distributions based on the same kernel.
A first presentation is planned for the «Journées du Libre», June 23-25
2006 in Strasbourg, France.

Sun is committed to support this new group, as it is already doing for
the French Solaris mailing list, and for many user groups around the world.

Nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer la création du premier groupe
d'utilisateurs OpenSolaris francophone, le GUSES («Groupe d'Utilisateurs
du Système d'Exploitation Solaris»).
Il est formalisé par une association loi 1901, présidé par Bruno
Bonfils, administrateur système et réseaux et utilisateur de Solaris,
assisté par un conseil d'administration de 5 membres.

Cette association indépendante a pour objet de promouvoir, populariser,
et développer les systèmes d'exploitation basés sur le système libre
OpenSolaris de Sun Microsystems. Cela comprend bien sûr Solaris, la
version commerciale, et les nouvelles distributions libres basées sur le
même noyau. Une première participation est prévue aux Journées du Libre,
à Strasbourg du 23 au 25 juin 2006.

Sun s'est dès à présent engagé à apporter son soutien à ce nouveau
groupe, comme il le fait déjà pour la liste de diffusion en français
consacrée à Solaris, ainsi que pour de nombreux groupes d'utilisateurs à
travers le monde.
