Hi Matt and LKR, 

Thank you for your help. A web page and mailing list would be good. I want to talk to some people at Caltech's IMSS group and see who might be interested in the group as well. I'll try and think of some interesting content to put up on the page as well. 

El Segundo office is easy for me (I live in Culver City) But we'll have to see what others think. I'm flexible. 

So I guess SOCALOSUG it is. 

I'm in Virginia and have limited connectivity right now, but will be back in LA later this week.
