[ug-discuss] Collaborate with I18n/L10n community

Hi members of User Groups,

My name is Young Joo Pintaske, and I'm one of the leads in the OS.o 
I18n/l10n community. As you may guess from the name of our community, 
our primary focus is internationalization and localization of Solaris. I 
presume that members of different UGs also have a great interest and 
expertise in making Solaris work in their locales.

The reason I'm writing here is to ask for collaboration. I wouldn't be 
surprised if there are some UGs that are translating -or interested in 
translating- OpenSolaris articles and documentations into their 
languages, for example. I18n/L10n community has a number of individual 
language communities (Korean, Japanese, French, etc.) that would be 
interested in doing just the same. In addition, a Sun group that 
provided Solaris i18n/l10n work before Solaris got open sourced is 
continuiing to open source existing translation and will soon open 
source i18n/l10n codes.

It would make sense that the two larger communities work together, and 
by doing so, we can avoid duplicated effort and join forces to achieve 
more. If you have any suggestions on how we can increase collaboration, 
please share your thoughts by replying to this email.
