Hi all,

On the afternoon of 09.28 we had an OpenSolaris User Group meeting at
Tsinghua University. Around 50 to 60 people attended this meeting.
Allthe attendees received a copy of the Solaris x86 Installation DVD, a
Solaris 10 Red Bible, and a set of localized OpenSolaris Starter Kit.

Kathy Jenks kicked off the meeting with a presentation on Solaris Now
and Future. Markus Flierl then talked on Solaris Network. Afterwards
Patrick Gu gave Introduction and Demo to JDS.

Although the attendees were quite interested in Sun technologies in
general (Solaris and OpenSolaris in particular), there were not so many
questions during the English talks. There could be two reasons, they
know very little about Solaris (we move those more experienced industry
users to the Solaris PUG, which went simultaneously with the OpenSolaris
User Group meeting at another venue); their oral English is not good
enough. This was proved during the last talk in Chinese. Quite a lot of
questions and we added a user interaction after the JDS demo. We also
promoted Open Glossary which will be soon on opensolaris.org.

Thanks a lot to Kathy Jenks, Markus Flierl, and Patrik Gu for delivering
the excellent presentation. Also to Siyuan Tian, Joey Guo, Polly Wang
and other folks who helped organize the event.

Best regards,
