We sort of have this at
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/content/newsletter/
but it's monthly, not quarterly - it'd be nice if there was more
content here though. Something like an external version of the
Sun-internal (sorry) Technocrat newsletter would make for excellent
reading.
There've been a few attempts to get people to contribute to this sort
of thing, the Content community, for example (from which came some some
excellent articles on Install and another good one on VMware)
We also tried to get more feedback in the "Help OpenSolaris Marketing",
by asking people to write articles, but again, I'm not sure how
successful we were
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/marketing/help-marketing/ along
with the Articles page at
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/articles/
I guess I'm like most people - I'm interested in hearing more about
OpenSolaris projects, but tend to get most information by digging
around myself in project web pages, blog posts and ARC cases. Having
these aggregated in a monthly/quarterly posting somewhere would be
lovely.
(I think encouraging the projects themselves to submit these
kinds of articles is the only way something like this can scale,
unless you know of someone with super-powers ?)
cheers,
tim
