In CentOS type

# system-config-network

and a GUI window opens for configuration. Then select 'New' button. Then in side bar of window select xDSL connection. In the next window give your user name and password. Your connection is over. just activate,save and close. If still  net is not connected give the following command.

# service network restart

If you want to start conncetion at boot time,

# chkconfig network on
