Did anyone join the phone call this evening?

My two primary takeaways from tonight's call are:

1. Oracle user groups are not so focused on one product. People on the call seemed to be mostly from JUGs and some from OSUGs. Oracle user groups are more broad, such as Higher Education User Group, Oracle Applications User Group, Oracle Development Tools User Group. You are invited to join the International Oracle Users Group Community

They have monthly conference calls, among other things.

2. Oracle user groups are independent from Oracle. Oracle insists that user group leaders cannot be Oracle employees. User groups do not meet at Oracle facilities. It is not clear how long user groups will still have space and mailing lists on opensolaris.org.

I have a feeling this week might be our last meeting, but please come and share your thoughts. I would hate to see the group dissolve since it was the first and once was quite robust. Certainly our group will not continue to meet on a Sun/Oracle property after this week. But please come and share your thoughts about our group's future.
